Tomb Mold – Planetary Clairvoyance (Canada, 19 July) Really aggressive deathgrind-ish band that will please fans of Misery Index and other bands in the style. Profanation – Into Cascades (Germany, 26 April) It’s a really evil-sounding one with loads of suffocation atmosphere. Strong black metal influences and focus on sonic impact over riff quality usually doesn’t excite me. Musmahhu – Reign of the Odious (Sweden, 18 January) One of the most aggressive death metal bands out there, often bordering on crust punk and deathgrind. Misery Index is a long-time favorite of mine. Misery Index – Rituals of Power (United States, 8 March) It will be at least on par, judging by “Decimated” below. The band’s 90’s material will give them the benefit of the doubt.
I’m unsure of what this classic band will be able to achieve at this point, especially with their singer gone. Malevolent Creation – The 13th Beast (United States, 18 January) Really digging the energy, hooks and overall sound on this album. Infernal Conjuration – Infernale Metallum Mortis (Mexico, 7 June)įans of Morbid Angel’s “Altars of Madness” (who isn’t?) will certainly dig the full-length debut from this Mexican band. I like this album a lot more than the last few discs thanks to the sheer velocity and nice changes in tempo. Hate is a workman-like band churning out solid Polish death metal, while never reaching the heights of 2005’s “Anaclasis”. Hate – Auric Gates of Veles (Poland, 14 June)
Polish death metal is usually quality, and Embrional is no exception. “We are Diabolical” has the usual Immolation/Behemoth stylings of their newer material, and even features proggy clean vocals.ĭisentomb – The Decaying Light (Australia, 12 July)Ī solid slab of Australian brutal death metal filled with tempo shifting and most things you can expect from a 7/10-ish BDM album.Įmbrional – Evil Dead (Poland, 10 January) It looks like Diabolical are going epic on their new album. The black metal and thrash metal sections makes it paradoxally distinguishable, it’s not really possible to directly compare Breaking Wheel to another band.ĭiabolical – Eclipse (Sweden, 15 February) Mixes music styles and influences into an enjoyable, and mostly death metal sound. Interesting debut album from this Michigan band I’ve never heard of before. Kickass riffs as usual.īreaking Wheel – Ceremonial Torture (United States, 1 February) Based on the pre-released song “InStructed InSanity”, I’m convinced “Fit to Kill” will be a top feature on this list.
